    Join us for our annual celebration of nature and good vibes! Activities for children and the young-at-heart around and on the pond at the Nature Center. 

     

    Come join us for day of fun honoring the Nature Center’s Ruckman Pond! A place so special deserves a day of its own!

    MUSIC! CANOE RIDES!  ARTS & CRAFTS! TIE-DYED T-SHIRTS!  POND SCIENCE! 

    AND IT'S ALL FREE! Can it get any better than that?

    Annual Soup Supper

    Date: Sunday, April 19th 

    Time: 5:00-7:00pm

    One of our most popular events, the Soup Supper has brought members and friends together for more than 30 years. A great variety of homemade soups and breads is our speciality. You get a bowl and spoon to sample as many soups as you like—plus tasty breads! Arrive by 6:30pm for best selection.

    Staycation at the Nature Center!

    Need something fun and educational for the kids to do during the holiday break?

    We have the answer: four days of nature exploration and fun with animals here at the Closter Nature Center.

    Depending on your schedule you can sign up for one, two, three or all four days.

    We will try to spend time outside each day, so please dress for the weather.

    Monday February 17th - Thursday February 20th

    1st and 2nd grade 9:00 - 11:30
    3rd thru 6th grade 1:00 - 3:30 

    Cost:  $80.00 /  session, Member; $100 / session, NON-Members

                    $25.00 / day for Members; $30 / day for NON-Members

  • Meet the Animals (Cancelled)

    Come visit the cabin by the pond and meet the animals of the Closter Nature Center ! Our collection of education animals delights children who come for our after-school programs and summer camp, and now it’s time for everyone to get to meet them!

    This month's after school science program will focus on one of the world’s most explosive natural disasters – Volcanoes!
    We will try to get outside each day, so please dress for the weather.
    Kids will make model volcanoes and we will erupt our giant volcano simulator, Mt. Closter!

    PreK and K   Tuesdays   4th - 11th - 25th 
    1st and 2nd  Wednesdays  5th - 12th - 26th

    Layer up your winter clothes, meet at the cabin, and join us for an afternoon forest adventure. With no leaves on the trees, finding wildlife becomes much easier!
