Junior Nature Guides
What are the Junior Nature Guides?
Junior Nature Guides are volunteers with the Closter Nature Center who are under the age of 18. There are a variety of roles and opportunities for those interested. Junior Nature Guides assist with our educational programming under the direction of our Naturalist, "Nature" Marc. They help improve our Nature Center by designing interpretive displays or improving our facilities. They act as trail stewards by keeping an eye on our trails, clearing the paths of obstacles and reporting more significant issues to our staff. They can help with our reforestation efforts by contributing to planting efforts or by working on invasive species management and removal.
We happily accomodate those who are looking to volunteer to meet service requirements (such as for schools, scouts, or other purposes) or if you just want to lend a hand to your local nature center.
Whatever your interests may be, we can find a way for you to get involved. We are extremely grateful for all of our Junior Nature Guides and the help they provide.
