Get ready for a delightful day at Ruckman Pond! Groove to live music, paddle serene waters in a canoe, unleash your creativity with arts & crafts and tie-dye, and explore the wonders of pond science. FREE admission and lots of FREE fun for all ages! It's a perfect way to learn about our reserve and enjoy a beautiful community event.

SUMMER PROGRAM
8-weeks of outdoor adventures start July 6th. Sessions run for ages 4-14
Our 136 acres of ponds, streams, meadows, and forest are waiting to be explored by young people in small groups led by our naturalist, Marc Gussen, and his assistant. Children will hike, dig, wade in the water, examine nature, discuss the environment, and above all, have fun!!
SEE YOU ON THE TRAILS
Explore over 3 miles of hiking trails across 136 acres of forested wetlands and more. Trails are open to the public every day of the year, from dawn to dusk, free of charge.

The Closter Nature Center (CNC) is a peaceful oasis located in suburban Closter, New Jersey. Guided by our mission—Conservation • Education • Recreation—we offer a welcoming place where nature and community come together.
Spread across 136 acres of ponds, brooks, meadows, and forests, the center is open to the public every day of the year, from dawn to dusk, free of charge. More than just a beautiful place to explore, the CNC is a local hub for environmental learning. Children discover the natural world through our hands-on After-School and Summer Programs, while visitors of all ages enjoy lectures, guided hikes, and other enriching experiences. Our cabin also serves as a gathering space, housing educational resources and our beloved animal ambassadors.
