    Annual Soup Supper Fundraiser

    One of our most popular events, the Soup Supper has brought members and friends together for more than 30 years. A great variety of homemade soups and breads is our speciality. You get a bowl and spoon to sample as many soups as you like—plus tasty breads!

    Time: 5:00-7:00pm (Arrive by 6:30pm for best selection.)

    Things are hopping this spring, as we will focus our classes on our bug-gobbling friends, the frogs! We will scour the forest looking for tadpoles and learn about the amazing life cycle of frogs and other amphibians.

    Tuesday April 4th, 18th and 25th PreK4 -  K
    Wednesday April 5th, 19th and 26th 1st-3rd Grades
    Thursday April 6th, 20th and 27th 4th-6th Grades

  • CNC Lecture + Hike: Our Forest in Crisis (Part 2)

    Forest Ecology Lecture and Hike

    “Our Forest in Crisis” a Two-Day Program

    Lecture: Thursday, March 23rd, 7 PM        

    Hike: Sunday, March 26th, 2 PM

    This two-part program with Naturalist Marc Gussen, will expose participants to the many pressures our forest faces, and a course of action for protecting the woods we love. Deer overpopulation, the sudden loss of our beech and ash trees, the rise of many non-native invasive species and global climate change, have combined to create a "perfect ecological storm".  

    Part One: Lecture: Come learn where we are, where we are headed and what we can do to preserve this precious resource.

    Admission: $10 for Members/ $15 for Non-Members 

     

    Part Two: Forest Ecology Hike:  Sunday, March 26th at 2:00 PM

    Admission: Donations happily accepted!

    Weather permitting, we will have a fire and roast marshmallows.

    Boards can be slippery in winter -- shoes with rubber soles are a must.
